Transformation

begins with you.

Specialized, trauma-focused therapy in Sandy Springs, GA for adults who want to heal their wounds and get to the root of their emotions.

No matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to be comfortable with the choices you make, your feelings, or even in your own skin. You describe yourself as self-aware and can name some uncomfortable truths about yourself but it never seems to do you any good in bringing meaningful change. All you’re looking for is some peace and happiness in your life.

I should be... able to manage better. stronger than this. over it by now. able to push myself more.

Stephanie Townsend, LMSW, ART Practitioner, CCTP

Hey there! I’m glad you’re here. Therapy can be such a confusing process but I’m here to tell you that you’re worth the time and energy it takes to heal. Whether it’s your first time reaching out for therapy or your 10th time re-starting the process of finding a meaningful connection, I’m here to hear you out. Working with me means you’re on a mission of “I’m making myself a priority.” I’m talking about self-care, boundaries, direct communication skills, processing uncomfortable memories, and self-compassion. I’m just one click away from joining you in your dark humor, holding a safe space for you as you process emotions, and celebrating you as you do the hard work.

You have the power to create the transformation you’ve dreamed of.

  • Therapy for Trauma

Trauma is the worst of thieves. It takes away what could have been, feelings of control, safety, and the ability to enjoy some of life’s best moments. Working through trauma calls you to process grief and get comfortable with the concept of letting go.

  • Therapy for Eating Disoders or Disordered Eating

You can’t place your finger on it. You’re not happy with your relationship with food, you cycle from diet to diet, and you have a lot of nutrition education, but nothing seems to stick. You’re not like the extreme circumstances that society shows for eating disorders but you know that what you’re doing isn’t sustainable.

  • Therapy for Anxiety

Anxiety tells us to be aware of the worst-case scenario at all times. It can even feel like alarm bells are constantly going off in our minds. Have you tried countless things to try and quieten the alarm but you’ve had no luck? Have you ever wondered where those alarm bells come from?

  • Therapy for Attachment Issues & Relational Struggles

You may often find yourself in arguments you weren’t meaning to start. You feel as though people are quick to paint you in a negative light. Life has probably taught you to accept behavior that you’re not actually okay with because if you rock the boat too much, your loved ones leave. To add to that injury, you may even find yourself pulling away before anyone else has the chance to hurt you.

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an eye-movement-based therapy that requires minimal talking, which is great if you are just warming up to therapy or have some things you really don’t want to talk about. You likely have some sticky images in your mind that if you’re suddenly reminded of them or think about them too long, some serious negative emotions can come up. ART is useful for trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD tendencies, phobias, career and academic performance anxiety, and much more.

  • Career Trainings

Do you own your own practice or facility? Or maybe you manage professionals that are client-facing? You know that there is no shortage of rules, ethics, and regulations when it comes to providing the best care. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up with a set of guidelines longer than the door to your office. Let me help you take the guesswork out of it. I provide specialized trainings that help you fill in the gap for you and/or your professionals as well as provide one on one coaching and material for you to keep as a refresher in the future.
