Accelerated Resolution Therapy in Sandy Springs, GA

Move on for good from the pain

If traditional talk therapy isn’t enough, try a new way.

No matter how hard you try, you can’t move on.

Traditional talk therapy will always be a valuable resource but sometimes our progress may be held back by not being able to move past certain memories. When you think back on your life, there are probably a few images that can come up that have the possibility to make you really uncomfortable or on edge. ART offers a new way of removing those sticky images in order to be able to move past those bigger emotional reactions.

What does Accelerated Resolution Therapy look like?

Eye-movement based therapy dealing with the worst of our past memories.

Every time we experience a trauma or a strongly negative memory, a small error code is created in the brain ultimately affecting our thinking patterns. Shame, hyper-vigilance, anxiety, depression, isolation, and people-pleasing, are all symptoms of something bigger in your past.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) allows you to go in and smooth out those thinking errors in order to return your brain back to “factory settings” so to speak. ART allows you to take the emotional charge out of even the most painful memories, and the best part is that if you don’t want to talk about those memories, you don’t have to! This has been a great advancement as a mental health option for populations such as veterans, first responders, and law enforcement as oftentimes they cannot speak about those specific memories or are too closed off to them to speak about them.

The science of ART specifically deals with how the brain deals with memory and works with the fragmented parts of those painful memories. The only work on your part is following my hand with your eyes.

“Trauma comes back as a reaction, not a memory.” -Bessel A. van der Kolk

You may be a strong candidate for ART if you are…

Willing to be open to avenues of healing other than talk therapy.

Talk therapy will never lose its importance in the therapy space. However, science is on our side in creating effective and quick treatments.

Motivated to put the past away and make changes in your world.

Just like anything else in life, you probably are not going to get much out of this if you aren’t looking to bring change into your life and process through painful or uncomfortable memories.

Willing to connect the past to the present.

Where you are in the world today is a direct result of what has happened in the past- the good and the bad.

Got Questions? I’ve Got Answers.

  • It’s not EMDR and it’s not hypnotherapy. However, if you look closely enough you may find similarities between all three. You’re completely awake and cognizant during this therapy. You are simply just following my hand with your eyes.

ART is an eye-movement-based therapy that uses the brain’s ability to work with memory fragments and allows you to “re-store” the memory without the emotions attached to it. You don’t walk away believing a different truth but simply break free from the emotional toil of your real truth.

  • There’s not many people that are listed as non-candidates for ART. If you have any sort of epilepsy disorder, you’re required to talk to your specialist for approval for this therapy. Special considerations are also made for people with Autism or any disorder that includes hallucinations. You may still benefit from this therapy if any of those considerations describe you but extra work may be required before attempting a session.

  • Yes! While I will always believe that the mixture of ART and talk therapy is a recipe for success, I get that other people may have different views of their goals. I sell packages, starting at 4 sessions as the first session is always a “meet and greet” and prepares you for the eye movements.

ART is effective for a wide range of issues that may not require talk therapy such as:

    One-time traumatic events

    Panic Disorder

    OCD and OCD Tendencies

    Career and Academic Performance

    Phobias

    Substance Use/Abuse
