Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Move past the pain for good

Online and In-person counseling in Atlanta and throughout Georgia

Have you tried the traditional talk therapy route before to try and move on from the parts of life that hurt you, but the results just weren’t what you needed?

Maybe you’ve tried similar therapies before, like Brainspotting or EMDR, and while you felt some positive shift, there are just some things that won’t seem to budge?

Are you looking for a new approach to move on from trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, substance use, eating disorders, and more in just 1-6 sessions?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy might be a good fit for you.

What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an eye-movement-based therapy that requires minimal talking and no information about the topics you want to process. ART helps “erase” and “cut” the emotional chord we have to specific memories, feelings, places, or even symptoms. You may share details of what you’re wanting to work on if you want to, but the beautiful thing is, I don’t have to know anything, which makes this therapy a great fit for veterans, first responders, anyone with memories they can’t talk about, or anyone who is just tired of talking about it. During the therapy, you’ll be accessing eye movements similar to what we do in REM sleep. REM sleep helps with memory consolidation and emotional regulation. However, you’re fully aware and have choice throughout this therapy. While engaging in these eye-movements, we focus on desensitizing, rewriting, erasing, and neutralizing negative images and sensations, giving you a more thorough and wholesome feeling of healing and relief.

Who is a good candidate for ART?

Anyone can be a good candidate, but for a successful series of ART, and for the treatment to have the best results, we look for:

  • Those who are motivated for change. This isn’t a miracle therapy that works against the brain’s will.

  • Those who can hold and continue a thought.

  • Those who are tired of the symptoms and feelings that they experience on a daily basis.

  • Are willing or open to trying a new therapy, or giving another “eye-movement” therapy a go.
