Is your child struggling to make new friends or tends to have a hard time enjoying activities with other children?
Do you feel like your child’s anger responses seem to be way bigger than what is proportionate?
Are you looking for ways to support your child’s development but you aren’t sure what’s the “right way?”
We can help with expert, evidence-based, and collaborative approaches to help you and your child find the tools and skills to promote a happy and healthy life.
Is Child Therapy the right decision?
If you feel like your child experiences any of the following:
A hard time making friends
Recurring, unexplained low mood
A hard time regulating big emotions
Trouble sleeping or potty training
Trouble in school
A recent traumatic or stressful event
Unexplained changes in their behavior
Or anything else you may deem as a negative or worrisome change or observation.
Starting your child in therapy might be the right choice.
Our Approaches to Child Therapy:
We use a blend of interventions that are designed to meet your child where they are, and we adjust as needed depending on progress and clinical need. Our evidence-based approaches include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Play Therapy
Parent Coaching
Family Therapy
To explain all of the jargon and list of interventions we listed above, we piece it all together in a fun, collaborative, and educational format to where your child gets the space and support they need while feeling safe and working through big feelings or previous hurts. We also integrate parents or caregivers where appropriate. We work with your kids to give them tools and skills to talk about how they feel and bring the big emotions under control so that they can still advocate without “shoving it down” or creating bigger issues at hand. Ultimately, we want your child to have a healthy relationship with self and emotions.
Here’s how we help:
I have questions about therapy for children
Therapy for children can help with a range of emotions and circumstances. If your child is struggling with shyness, crying spells, anger, anxiety, fear, or if they have experienced a life event such as moving, parents separating, adding or blending families, a traumatic event, etc. Therapy for your child can help build skills, resilience, and capacity to move forward in healthy ways.
What can child therapy help with?
We do include parents and caregivers where appropriate. However, the majority of the therapeutic process is done specifically between the child and the therapist. This helps build a trusting rapport and enhances the therapeutic process.
Will I be involved in my child’s therapy?
Every child shows up unique and carries specific needs that may look different compared to other children or families. So while we cannot make hard promises on timeline, we do typically see improvement with symptoms, behaviors, and moods within 3-6 months.
How long does the child therapy process take?
Your child deserves healing & happiness.
